Boom is on a mission to level the playing field for the 100 million renters in the US by making housing more flexible, affordable, and attainable. We’re starting by building a payment app that enables renters to pay their rent how they want, on the schedule they define, and get rewarded in the process. We are led by a team of second-time founders and payments and real estate veterans, with funding led by the co-founders of Plaid and from the founders/alumni of companies like Cash App, Plastiq, and Olapic.

Opportunity

We are looking for hungry early-career operators who are interested to build in the fintech and real estate spaces. You’d be a great fit if you enjoy building and working in small teams at the early stages when there is room to do more laterally across the company. Your work will have massive impact, as you’ll work alongside our founders and help inform our product and company strategy. We’d prefer a commitment of at least 20 hours/week for 10 weeks to make it worthwhile for both you and Boom.

What you'll do ****

• Diligence and run tests for new potential products, which may include designing the test, designing landing pages, identifying and executing on marketing channels, interacting with customers, etc.
• Test distribution channels across fintech (e.g. neobanks) and real estate (e.g. property managers, proptech), which may include defining the channels, design the outreach process, executing on it, and aggregating feedback/next steps
• Conduct customer discovery interviews with potential referral partners
• Help run and systematize operations on the business where needed (e.g. our BoomReport product)

What you'll need

• At least 1-2 years of work experience, preferably at/in an early stage venture, management consulting, or your own business/side hustle
• At least some no-code generalist aptitude - e.g. working with Figma, Webflow, Zapier, FB Ads, etc. to build and test low-fidelity prototypes
• Ability to operate in situations where information or requirements change constantly
• A user-focused mindset, with experience running customer discovery interviews a big plus
• Ability to work self sufficiently and oriented toward action (e.g. deliver against deadlines)
• (bonus) Fintech, payments and/or real estate experience
